Google Chat now supports group conversations with external collaborators, letting users create external group DMs without extra configuration. External members join by email invitation, and conversations are marked with a visible badge.

• Admins must enable the External spaces & group direct messages setting to allow external group DMs.
• External users can be added only when creating a new group DM, not to an existing internal-only group DM.
