Google Workspace Update

Gmail on Android and iOS now lets delegates read, manage, and compose mail for delegated accounts from mobile devices. The feature follows existing delegation settings and requires no additional setup for current delegates.

• Delegates can switch between their own inbox and delegated accounts in the Gmail mobile app.
• Delegates can view unread counts for delegated inboxes and use the mobile All inboxes view.
• Delegates can send messages that show the specific sent by information on mobile.

• There is no admin control for this feature; it uses existing Gmail delegation settings configured for the web experience.
• Delegation can still be restricted to specific organizational units and follows existing limits, including up to 1,000 unique delegates per account and 40 concurrent users.
• End users must first be granted access via Gmail web settings, then select the delegated account from the profile menu in the mobile app.
• Rollout is in progress for Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, with expected completion by Jul 8, 2026 on Android and Jul 29, 2026 on iOS.
