Read Along in Google Classroom is now available to all Google Workspace for Education users at no cost. It adds real-time reading support, class and student insights, multilingual help, and Gemini-assisted story creation. Advanced analytics are limited to Education Plus and Teaching & Learning add-ons.

• Real-time pronunciation feedback and word-breakdown support while students read aloud
• Insights dashboard for accuracy, speed, comprehension, phonics skills, and progress
• Content library with hundreds of books across eight languages
• Multilingual support for English learners with native-language assistance
• Gemini-assisted story creation for differentiated reading activities
• Ability to add existing class content to tailor support and insights

• Admins who became Google Workspace for Education customers on or after July 7, 2024: Read Along is on by default.
• Admins who became customers before July 7, 2024: enable Read Along in the Admin console.
• Read Along can be disabled at the domain and OU level, and enabled at the group level even if disabled at the OU level.
• Advanced analytics and BigQuery export are available only with Education Plus and Teaching & Learning add-on.
• Rollout is in progress for Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, with expected completion by July 3, 2026.
