Google Workspace Update

Google Workspace expands Out-of-Domain file-level warnings across mobile apps, Chat Spaces, Groups, service accounts, and email notifications. The feature is on by default for all Google Workspace customers and can be disabled by admins at the domain or organizational level.

• Improves detection of external documents and users to help prevent accidental data exfiltration and phishing attempts.
• Adds external badges for files accessed via Android and iOS apps, external Chat Spaces/Groups access, external service accounts, and comment/file-sharing email notifications.

• External indicators now appear in Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides on Android and iOS.
• Chat Spaces and Google Groups can now surface external badges when external users have document access.
• Comment and file-sharing email notifications now include external badges.

• Admins can disable the feature at the domain or organizational level in the Admin console.
• The feature is enabled by default for end users and there is no end-user setting.
• Rollout is available now for Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains.
