Google Workspace Update

Google Chat introduces meeting recaps that summarize discussions, decisions, action items, and links to Gemini notes, recordings, and transcripts. Recaps appear automatically for meetings using “Take notes for me” with an associated Chat conversation.

• Meeting recap cards in Google Chat provide meeting summaries, key decisions, assigned action items, and direct links to Gemini meeting notes, recordings, and transcripts.

• A recap card is not posted to the group chat when meeting notes are configured to be sent to hosts and co-hosts only.

• The feature is enabled by default for organizations with Gemini for Google Workspace enabled and follows existing “Take notes for me” and Gemini administrator policies.
• Meeting recaps require “Take notes for me” to be active during the Google Meet call and an associated meeting Chat conversation.
• Recap cards are delivered silently without bolding the conversation or adding an unread badge.
• Any participant in the meeting conversation can delete the recap card; the original notes document remains in Google Drive.
• Rapid Release rollout began October 16, 2026, with feature visibility gradually expanding for up to 15 days. Scheduled Release rollout starts October 27, 2026, with the same gradual rollout period.
• Available for Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Frontline Plus editions.
