Google Workspace Update

Google Chat now automatically posts meeting recaps for Google Meet calls using “Take notes for me,” including summaries, decisions, action items, and links to notes, recordings, and transcripts.

• Google Chat automatically posts meeting recap cards in the associated meeting conversation after Google Meet calls with “Take notes for me” enabled.
• Recaps include meeting summaries, key decisions, assigned action items, and direct links to Gemini meeting notes, recordings, and transcripts.

• A recap card is not posted to the group chat when the meeting host sets “Send notes to” to “Hosts and co-hosts only.”
• Recap cards are delivered silently without bolding the conversation or adding an unread badge.
• Deleting a recap card removes its summary from Chat, but the original notes document remains in Google Drive.

• The feature is enabled by default for organizations with Gemini for Google Workspace enabled and follows existing “Take notes for me” and Gemini administrator policies.
• No end-user setting is available; recaps appear automatically after the meeting ends.
• An associated Google Chat conversation must exist for the meeting.
• Any participant in the meeting conversation can delete a recap card through More options > Delete.
• Rapid Release rollout started October 16, 2026, with gradual feature visibility over up to 15 days. Scheduled Release rollout starts October 27, 2026, with gradual visibility over up to 15 days.
• Available for Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Frontline Plus editions.
