Veeam Backup Veem Update Version 13.1

Veeam Backup & Replication 13.1 is available for Windows from July 29, 2026. The release notes provide upgrade requirements, compatibility guidance, installation procedures, and extensive known limitations.

• NTLM authentication is deprecated in Windows-based installations in favor of Kerberos. Use the Veeam Deployment Kit where certificate-based features are required and Kerberos is unavailable.
• SSH private keys generated with DSA are no longer supported for backup infrastructure authentication.
• Microsoft Smart App Control must be disabled before installing Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows, or installation will be blocked.

• Installation or deployment on Windows systems with Turkish or other non-ASCII locales may fail because of PostgreSQL locale-handling limitations.
• Installation may fail at the PostgreSQL step when the system locale name contains non-ASCII characters; use an ASCII-named locale or preinstall PostgreSQL with an ASCII locale.
• Certain antivirus products may interfere with product setup or cause operating-system crashes during file-level recovery.
• After upgrading to 13.1, Web UI access tokens may not refresh automatically when they expire in Firefox.
• Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11 24H2 ReFS repositories with deduplication and encryption enabled are not supported.
• Windows file-level restore over PowerShell Direct fails when the source VM has a backup job using the Use Persistent Guest Agent option.
• Hyper-V application-aware processing may fail on certain guest operating systems unless the latest Windows updates or Hyper-V integration components are installed.

• Veeam Backup & Replication 13.1 supports automated in-place upgrades from version 12.3.1 build 12.3.1.1139 or later. Earlier versions require contacting Veeam Support.
• Windows-to-Veeam Software Appliance migration is not supported in 13.1; remain on the latest 13.0 patch and contact Veeam Support if migration is required.
• Before upgrading, complete jobs and restore sessions, disable scheduled and Backup Copy jobs, disable CDP policies, and create an encrypted configuration backup.
• Ensure ports 443 and, for upgrades from version 12, 6162 are available on the backup server before starting the upgrade.
• The Veeam PowerShell module now requires PowerShell 7. Scheduled scripts should call pwsh.exe instead of powershell.exe.
• Upgrade Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager before the associated Veeam Backup & Replication server. Upgrade Veeam ONE before upgrading the monitored backup infrastructure.
• Managed Veeam Agent versions below the documented minimums may stop working after the Veeam Backup & Replication upgrade; update agents and application plug-ins as required.
• Download the latest ISO because it includes the latest available cumulative patch. Updates and hot-fix installation automatically restart services.
