Update Summary

Veeam Backup & Replication 13.1 release notes include upgrade guidance, platform-specific limitations, and known issues across VMware, Hyper-V, cloud, and agent workloads. The release is available for download starting July 29, 2026.

Update Details

Known Issues

  • Windows installation may fail on Turkish or other non-ASCII locales because of PostgreSQL 17 locale handling.
  • After upgrading to 13.1, existing Azure Restore Proxies must be removed and redeployed.
  • Migration from a Microsoft Windows installation of Veeam Backup & Replication to Veeam Software Appliance is not supported in 13.1.
  • Veeam Cloud Connect Portal is deprecated and can no longer be used.
  • SSH private keys generated with DSA are no longer supported.
  • Backups configured with GFS settings cannot be deleted in the Web UI.

Hints

  • Upgrade from Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3.1 (build 12.3.1.1139) or later is supported in place; earlier versions require Veeam Customer Support.
  • Port 443 is now required for Web UI operations and may block upgrade if already in use.
  • Customers planning to migrate from Windows to Veeam Software Appliance should stay on the latest 13.0 patch release and contact Veeam Support.
  • After upgrading, backup server performance may be reduced temporarily while the configuration database is optimized.
  • For Azure integration, existing Microsoft Azure compute account permissions may need to be updated after upgrading.
  • The release notes recommend downloading the latest ISO because it includes the latest cumulative patch.
