Update Summary

Veeam Backup & Replication 13.1 release notes cover installation, upgrade guidance, and extensive platform-specific known issues and limitations. The release version is available for download starting July 29, 2026.

Update Details

Known Issues

  • Extensive platform-specific limitations remain across VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, CDP, Universal CDP, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox VE, Cloud Connect, tape, and multiple agent and explorer components.
  • After upgrading from 13.0.1 or 13.0.2 to 13.1, a Universal CDP protection group rescan may fail during component installation on the source machine until the source machine is rebooted.
  • After upgrading to 13.1, existing Azure Restore Proxies must be removed and redeployed.
  • Migration from a Microsoft Windows installation of Veeam Backup & Replication to Veeam Software Appliance is not supported in 13.1.

Hints

  • Upgrade from Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3.1 (build 12.3.1.1139) or later is supported in-place; earlier versions require Veeam Customer Support.
  • Port 443 is required for Web UI operations during upgrade and may block the upgrade if already in use.
  • If migrating to Veeam Software Appliance, stay on the latest 13.0 patch release and contact Veeam Support; 13.1 does not support migration from Windows-based VBR.
  • After upgrading, some remote components may need to be upgraded later via the Upgrade wizard if they were unavailable during the main upgrade.
  • The release notes recommend downloading the latest ISO because it includes the latest cumulative patch.
