Update Summary

Veeam Backup & Replication 13.1 release notes cover upgrade guidance, system requirements, and extensive platform-specific limitations. The release is available for download starting July 29, 2026.

Update Details

Known Issues

  • Extensive platform-specific limitations remain across VMware, AWS, Azure, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox VE, agents, and other integrations.
  • After upgrading from 13.0.1 or 13.0.2 to 13.1, a Universal CDP protection group rescan may fail during component installation on the source machine until the source machine is rebooted.
  • After upgrading to 13.1, existing Azure Restore Proxies must be removed and redeployed.

Hints

  • For Windows upgrades, Veeam Backup & Replication 13.1 supports in-place upgrade from version 12.3.1 (build 12.3.1.1139) or later.
  • Migration from a Microsoft Windows installation to Veeam Software Appliance is not supported in 13.1.
  • Port 443 is now required for Web UI operations and may block upgrade if already in use.
  • Download the latest ISO because it includes the latest cumulative patch.
  • If upgrading from earlier versions, review the upgrade checklist and ensure no jobs, restore sessions, CDP policies, or active tasks are running.
  • Several legacy features are removed or deprecated, including restore point-based retention for new jobs, reversed incremental mode for new jobs, single-storage backup format, and the Veeam Cloud Connect Portal.
