Update Summary
Wireless Workbench 7.8.1 corrects frequency-group handling, resolves multiple crashes and monitoring issues, and documents compatibility limitations and known ANX4, ADT, ADXR, and ULXD4Q issues.
Update Details
Bug Fixes
- Corrects the allowed frequency range for the Israel License Free user group to 498.000–510.000 MHz.
- Resolves crashes caused by simultaneous hardware alert changes, rebooting an AD610 with connected Showlink devices, stopping scans with low memory, scanning with very little free RAM, and certain Monitor view scenarios.
- Corrects ANX4 frequency-group display, Monitor channel-strip disappearance, FD-C frequency handling, and incorrect RF power display.
- Restores missing SLXD+ link icons and corrects AD PSM RF MUTE status reporting.
- Enables the Stop All button while a scan is in progress.
Known Issues
- ANX4 custom inclusion groups revert to automatic groups after the device returns online or Wireless Workbench is reopened.
- Wireless Workbench may not discover a ULXD4Q enrolled in Dante Domain Manager after firmware is updated from 2.8.6 to 2.10.0.
- Wireless Workbench 7 may become unresponsive when exiting while network devices are repeatedly power-cycled.
- An erroneous Merge Settings dialog may appear when AD PSM operational presets change and the device briefly becomes unresponsive.
- Custom G/Ch group imports for ANX4 and AD4 receivers may be rejected when transmitters operate outside the group/channel range.
- Locked ANX4 and ADT devices that go offline may continue to display as locked instead of showing offline properties.
- ANX4 FD-C operation may not update F2 after selecting a new frequency, and channel strips may not immediately update after changing from Quadversity.
- ANX4 may display an incorrect model name, such as ANX4_AD or ANX4_UXLD.
- ANX4 virtual-device fan-mode options may display incorrect values.
- Swapping ADTD/Q frequencies may fail to update correctly and may create a frequency conflict.
- ADTD/Q devices with fallback IP addresses may display an incorrect channel count after rebooting while Wireless Workbench is open.
- Some wideband presets are unavailable for ADT devices. Workaround: assign the operational preset manually.
- Virtual ADTD/ADTQ devices may show blank channel names, incorrect channel counts, or blank G/Ch fields in certain workflows.
- After editing an AD600 CFL in rare cases, the device may be unable to serve frequencies. Workaround: update to the latest available firmware.
- ADTD/Q wideband frequency fields may become empty after double-clicking, although frequencies remain selectable.
- Changing transmission mode on an ADXR may create duplicate Rx Online events, and ADXR power-save or frequency changes may create erroneous or duplicate event-log entries.
- Access-control status for ADT and ADXR devices may display incorrectly until the property panel is reopened or another row is selected.
- ADXR online and offline events may be absent from Timeline system events when Mini-Timeline is disabled.
- Device merge conflicts may be inconsistent when reopening show files containing ADTQ or ADTD devices.
- Wireless Workbench may hang for approximately 60 seconds after the computer wakes from sleep while monitoring channel strips.
- The sidebar volume position may be shown relative to the lock value rather than the overall volume.
Hints
- Wireless Workbench 6.15.x and 7.x can be installed on the same computer but cannot run simultaneously.
- WWB7 no longer supports online UHF-R control and monitoring, frequency conversion, or inventory import and export; use WWB 6.15.x when these functions are required.
- Opening show files created with older Wireless Workbench versions may display a Settings Conflicts dialog. Select "Keep all settings from: Wireless Workbench" to retain all show-file settings.
- Supported minimum operating systems include Windows 10 or 11 on Intel, macOS Ventura 13 on Intel or Apple Silicon, macOS Sonoma 14, and macOS Sequoia 15.
- Shure-tested performance configurations range from 80 channels on a Windows system with 16 GB RAM to 120 channels on a Mac with an M4 processor and 16 GB RAM. Contact Shure Support for requirements above 120 channels.
- Shure recommends updating connected devices and utilities to specified minimum versions, including Axient Digital 1.5.1, ULXD 2.10.0, SLXD+ 2.0.38, Shure Update Utility 2.8.14, and Wireless Workbench Mobile 2.2.0.
