Update Summary
Wireless Workbench 7.8.0 adds SLX-D+ support, Brazil postal-code and TV data, and new ADXR and AXDR controls. It also improves performance and resolves crashes, scanning, frequency, timeline, and device-monitoring issues.
Update Details
Bug Fixes
- Resolved crashes when devices go offline, when quitting the application, when swapping frequencies on virtual non-networkable devices, and when the timeline is running during computer sleep.
- Fixed scan data becoming stuck after an ANX4 power cycle or shutdown during an active scan.
- Fixed frequencies not being saved to Show files after manual Inventory changes.
- Corrected Merge Conflicts dialog names when merging virtual and online ANX4 devices.
- Fixed incorrect Showlink signal indicators for offline devices and missing Low RF Signal alerts on SLX-D and SLX-D+ receivers.
- Fixed duplicate channel names in Timeline and Monitor for ANX4 FD-S configurations.
- Fixed missing Dante Channel Labels on SLXD4QDAN+ receivers.
- Fixed empty Frequency Lists after deploying multiple zones and reopening a Show file.
- Fixed timeline search fields not clearing after a timeline is started, stopped, and deleted.
- Fixed missing transmitter power information for ANX4 AD and ULX-D configurations.
- Improved performance when Showlink transmitters change range, when monitoring many channels with timelines, after computer sleep and wake, and after network reconnection.
New Features
- Added support for SLX-D+.
- Added postal-code and TV data for Brazil.
- Added ADXR Impedance Drive configuration to the Inventory sidebar and property panel.
- Added the ability to reset AXDR EQ from the property panel.
- Updated names and front-end filter values for Sound Devices Astral equipment profiles.
Known Issues
- WWB may incorrectly display a Merge Settings dialog when AD PSM operational presets are changed and devices briefly become unresponsive.
- Custom G/Ch group imports for ANX4 and AD4 receivers may be rejected when transmitters operate outside the group/channel range.
- Locked ANX4 or ADT devices that go offline may continue to display as locked instead of showing offline properties.
- For ANX4 in AD mode, F2 may not update after selecting a new frequency in FD-C mode, and channel strips may not immediately update after changing from Quadversity.
- The ANX4 model name may appear as ANX4_AD or ANX4_UXLD.
- Virtual ANX4 devices may show incorrect fan-mode dropdown values instead of Automatic and Always On.
- Swapping frequencies with ADTD/Q devices may fail to update frequencies correctly and may create a frequency conflict.
- Rebooting an ADTD/Q device with a fallback IP while WWB is open may display an incorrect channel count in Inventory, Coordination, and Monitor.
- Some wideband presets are unavailable for ADT devices. Workaround: assign the operation preset manually.
- Adding a virtual ADTD or ADTQ with a four-channel wideband operational preset to Coordination may produce a blank channel name.
- After editing an AD600 CFL in rare cases, the AD600 may no longer be able to serve frequencies. Workaround: update to the latest available firmware.
- For ADTD/Q wideband operational presets, double-clicking a frequency may make the field appear empty even though values remain selectable from the dropdown.
- Virtual ULXD4Q JA/JB devices may show blank G/Ch fields. Workaround: select a group and channel.
- Changing Transmission Mode and rebooting an ADXR may create a duplicate Rx Online event.
- Adding a virtual ADTD or ATDQ may show an incorrect channel count in the Add Device dialog.
- A green success mark may appear when applying access control to an ADT and unlinked ADXR, although an unlinked ADXR cannot be configured.
- ANX4 receivers in AD mode may not display RF Power Level in mW on the monitoring channel strip.
- Disabling power save on an ADXR may create erroneous event-log entries.
- ADXR access-control status may not refresh until the property panel is reopened; linked ADXR devices may also require moving the mouse over another row before they can be locked.
- ADXR offline and online events may be missing from Timeline system events when Mini-Timeline is disabled.
- Changing an ADXR frequency may create duplicate or incorrect system events.
- Device merge conflicts may be inconsistent when reopening Show files with ADTQ or ADTD devices.
- The application may hang for approximately 60 seconds after the computer wakes from sleep while monitoring channel strips.
- Volume position in the sidebar is relative to the lock value rather than the overall volume.
Hints
- WWB 6.15.x and WWB 7.x can be installed on the same machine but cannot run simultaneously.
- WWB 7 no longer supports online UHF-R control and monitoring, frequency conversion, or inventory import and export; use WWB 6.15.x when these features are required.
- Opening Show files created with older Wireless Workbench versions may display a Settings Conflicts dialog. Select Keep all settings from: Wireless Workbench to preserve the Show file settings.
- Supported operating systems include Windows 10 and Windows 11 on Intel, plus macOS Ventura 13, Sonoma 14, and Sequoia 15 on Intel or Apple Silicon.
- Tested configurations support up to 80 channels on an 11th-generation Intel Windows system, 112 channels on a 13th-generation Intel Windows system, and 120 channels on an M4 Mac. Contact Shure Support for larger deployments or specific requirements.
- For best performance, Shure recommends current firmware and software versions for Axient Digital, Axient Digital PSM, AD600, Axient, PSM1000, QLXD, SLXD, SLXD+, ULXD, Shure chargers, Shure Update Utility, and Wireless Workbench Mobile.
