Update Summary

Version 10.4.1 adds new hardware support, security enhancements, and video improvements, including Mediacast Privacy Mode and increased concurrent session limits. It also resolves multiple platform, control, and video stability issues.

Update Details

Security

  • Mediacast Privacy Mode lets administrators replace camera preview streams with a privacy image across Q-SYS Designer, UCI Viewer, Core Manager, and Reflect without affecting active conference streams.
  • Maximum Concurrent Session limit increased from 5 to 20 per user account across devices and browsers, with excess sessions blocked.

Bug Fixes

  • Windows UCI Viewer could show only one instance of the same video stream correctly on a UCI and could crash when navigating between pages containing duplicate video streams.
  • Auto-addressing designs with more than 256 AES67 TX components could exhaust the Core Manager multicast range, causing TX components to stop and RX components to report a PTP Grandmaster Mismatch fault.
  • A Core could crash over its redundant standby when updating PA Zone Tags in Q-SYS Administrator.
  • The Add Multiple Inventory dialog could not be used again after adding the maximum number of items in one batch.
  • Core 5200 processors in a redundant pair could randomly crash after several days and become unreachable in Core Manager.
  • NC-Pro15x stream quality could degrade with latency spikes, dropped packets, and video artifacts when about six or more decoders received the stream.
  • NVM Encoder could show no video when 21x9 EDID was selected in the source component.
  • NV-21 and NV-32-H encoders were not receiving HDMI audio from connected sources.
  • NC-Pro 15x could intermittently display an offline image when switching via a Mediacast router in designs with more than one video bridge.

New Features

  • Added support for the 7.0" BOE display on the TSC-70-G3 Touch Screen Controller.
  • Added support for an updated audio board in the Core 24f; units with this board require Q-SYS Designer Software v10.4.1 or later.
  • NC-Pro15x cameras now include Canon firmware v1.0.1 for improved responsiveness, reduced streaming latency, and better multicast reliability.
  • NC-Pro15x now supports XLR audio input for NDI|HDX audio transmission.
  • USB Video Bridge YUY2 bridging formats now use full-range quantization for improved color depth and contrast.

Hints

  • Direct downgrade from 10.x to 9.13.2 is not supported when Access Control is enabled; use 10.x → 9.13.1 → 9.13.2 instead.
  • Core 24f units with the updated audio board cannot be downgraded below v10.4.1; downgrading will fail and wipe the design, requiring firmware v10.4.1 or later to recover.
  • NC-Pro15x camera firmware update requires a manual upgrade and does not support automatic firmware upgrades on design push.
  • Users who previously added audio delay to compensate for NC-Pro15x lip sync may need to adjust or remove that delay after upgrading.
  • For hardware revision and minimum software requirements, see Compatibility: by Hardware Revision.
