Security

  • ChatGPT Classic continues to receive security patches and support for existing Enterprise capabilities.
  • Atlas browser data, including bookmarks, open tabs, and history, will not transfer automatically; users should move data before deprecation.

New Features

  • ChatGPT Work for longer tasks, research, connected apps and files, and creating finished documents, spreadsheets, presentations, reports, and Sites.
  • Scheduled Tasks that can run once, repeat on a schedule, trigger on events, or monitor for changes.
  • New ChatGPT desktop app for macOS and Windows combining Chat, Work, and Codex.
  • ChatGPT Sites public beta for creating and publishing interactive websites or lightweight apps.
  • Plugin Directory replaces the App Directory, with plugins that can package skills, apps, and templates.

Known Issues

  • Existing group chats remain available for now, but new group chats cannot be created and invite links no longer work.
  • Atlas is scheduled to stop working on Aug 9, 2026.

Hints

  • Enterprise and Edu workspaces have a two-week preview for Work; it is off by default and admins can opt out before automatic enablement.
  • If using the previous ChatGPT desktop app, follow the in-app prompt to download the new version; Codex app users should update as usual.
  • For Atlas migration, export cookies and passwords to the ChatGPT desktop app and bookmarks to Chrome before Aug 9, 2026.
  • Public publishing for Sites is off by default in Enterprise and must be enabled by an admin.
  • Sites public beta and public publishing are not available in the EEA, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom at launch.
