New Features

  • Interactive quizzes are now available in conversations for all consumer ChatGPT plans and Edu plans on web and mobile.
  • Existing unshared projects can switch between default and project-only memory without creating a new project.
  • Eligible paid users can receive homepage suggestions based on conversation history and connected tools.
  • On web, Free and Go users can use Think on the web for harder questions.
  • On Android, users can switch between typing and dictation in the same message, keep composer suggestions in sync, and continue typing with a physical keyboard.
  • The ChatGPT desktop app is now available globally in public preview on Linux for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and 26.04 LTS, Debian 13, and Fedora 43 and 44.
  • Linux desktop users can use browser actions in the built-in browser or Chrome.

Known Issues

  • Changes to a project’s memory setting may take a few hours to take effect.
  • Shared projects remain project-only and cannot be switched to default memory.
  • ChatGPT Work is not available in projects using project-only memory.
  • On Linux, controlling other desktop apps is not yet supported.

Hints

  • To change a project’s memory setting, open the project, select the three-dot menu, choose Project settings, and then select Default memory or Project-only memory under Memory.
  • Project-only memory uses conversations from the same project for context and keeps project information out of memory used in chats outside the project.
  • The Linux desktop app is available as a public preview.
