Update Summary
Neat OS 26.3.0 adds WPA3 and 6 GHz Wi-Fi, web-based 802.1X configuration, external HDMI audio, expanded language support, and unified BYOD behavior. It also delivers audio, camera, HDMI, networking, and stability improvements.
Update Details
Security
- Adds WPA3-Personal, WPA3-Enterprise, and WPA2/WPA3 transition-mode support, enabling connections to WPA3-secured and 6 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
- Adds web-based 802.1X configuration for Wi-Fi and Ethernet, including SCEP, standard CSR workflows, and PEM certificate bundles.
- Improves SSL certificate fingerprint mismatch diagnostics during device pairing.
Bug Fixes
- Fixes USB audio disconnects, missing output, and severe noise during Zoom-to-Microsoft Teams interoperability calls on Neat Bar Pro and Neat Board Pro.
- Corrects DHCP Option 42 NTP failover so devices return to the advertised NTP server after it becomes reachable.
- Improves Microsoft Teams Casting Bluetooth initialization on Neat Bar Pro.
- Reduces microphone latency on Neat Center and Neat Pad Pro by approximately 38 ms.
- Improves camera selection with multiple Neat Centers and makes the audio mixer follow speaker changes more responsively.
- Improves Voice Isolation in reverberant rooms and raises microphone send level by approximately 1 dB.
- Fixes French localization gaps in System Settings and restores auto-framing modes for Neat Center-only camera configurations in Microsoft Teams.
- Corrects 21:9 HDMI resolution negotiation on Neat Bar Pro and synchronizes HDMI-shared audio with video.
- Fixes Zoom Multi-Stream error notifications when Neat Bar Pro is paired with Neat Center.
- Reduces false room-occupancy reports in Zoom Room Scheduler caused by ultrasound motion detection.
New Features
- Gen 2 Neat devices can output far-end and content audio over HDMI to external active or passive room speakers, with internal-plus-external and external-only modes.
- Adds WPA3 connectivity, including support for 6 GHz Wi-Fi 6E networks.
- Adds web-interface configuration for Wi-Fi and Ethernet 802.1X authentication, including certificate-chain uploads and SCEP provisioning.
- Adds Swedish device-language support and completes Japanese localization for menus and BYOD text.
- Unifies Auto BYOD and Manual BYOD controls, including a swipe-menu BYOD button and an on-screen Exit BYOD mode button.
Known Issues
- Neat Pad Pro cannot pair directly with Neat Bar-family devices running Neat OS 24.6; use an intermediate device on a newer release. This is resolved in Neat OS 26.5.0 Preview.
- Neat Pad microphones may turn off after a paired device restarts or reconnects over Wi-Fi. Re-enable them through the room device settings in Neat Pulse.
- Neat Board 32 may briefly flash black when opening the swipe-left menu in BYOD-only mode.
- Disabling Color Correction may not take effect immediately and can take approximately 30 seconds or longer.
- Speaker Framing may select the wrong in-room person when external speakers are used, particularly when speakers are far from the Neat device.
- Neat devices may respond to foreign PTPv2 multicast Delay_Req messages on the same network and PTP domain, potentially affecting AES67 or other PTPv2 equipment.
- The Framing Boundary tutorial is unavailable in Google Meet mode.
- Auto BYOD sessions may take longer than expected to exit after USB disconnection and may produce a brief audio spike.
- Preview-channel devices may no longer respect Keep Screen On; disable Screen Standby to keep the display on.
- Changing Neat settings during an active Google Meet call may unexpectedly end the call for affected EFT customers.
- Additional limitations remain for Framing Boundary controls, camera previews and LEDs, Teams Pad responsiveness, Zoom Companion Room mode, Zoom Advanced Noise Suppression, external USB audio switching, high-resolution OOB displays, simultaneous OTA downloads, and HDMI CEC wake behavior.
Hints
- Stable updates are now scheduled per Neat Pulse organization. Check Updates > Neat OS Roadmap in Neat Pulse for the organization-specific schedule.
- Organizations not using Neat Pulse continue receiving Preview and Stable updates through automatic OTA deployment.
- Devices must be powered on, connected to the internet, configured for the Stable channel, and have Automatic updates enabled to upgrade automatically.
- HDMI audio requires a third-party HDMI audio de-embedder and cannot be used simultaneously with Audio over USB. External audio equipment must maintain suitable latency and avoid distortion.
- For Neat Bar Pro HDMI audio, HDMI 2 carries audio in dual-display setups. In HDMI 1 plus HDMI 3 configurations, HDMI 3 carries audio; single-display setups require Screen Mirroring.
- HDMI audio provides far-end and content audio only, not in-room voice lift or sound reinforcement.
- Supported software combinations include Zoom Rooms Controller 7.1.5 (5387), Zoom Room Appliance 7.1.5 (10317), Chromium M141, and Pulse Agent 2.3.44.
- Neat Frame is excluded from Neat OS 26.3.0 and continues receiving separate Zoom application updates.
- Neat devices enrolled in Neat Pulse must have updates managed through Neat Pulse; the device Software Update option may be unavailable.
