Update Summary

Neat OS 26.3.0 adds WPA3 and 6 GHz Wi-Fi, web-based 802.1X setup, external HDMI audio, expanded language support, and unified BYOD behavior. It also includes audio, camera, networking, display, and interoperability fixes.

Update Details

Security

  • Added WPA3-Personal, WPA3-Enterprise with 802.1X, and WPA2/WPA3 transition-mode support, enabling connections to hardened networks and 6 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Added web-based 802.1X configuration for Wi-Fi and Ethernet, including SCEP, standard CSR workflows, and PEM certificate-chain uploads.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed USB audio disconnects, missing output, and severe noise during Zoom-to-Microsoft Teams interoperability calls on Neat Bar Pro and Neat Board Pro.
  • Improved DHCP Option 42 NTP failover so devices return to the DHCP server after it recovers instead of permanently using time.neat.no.
  • Improved Microsoft Teams Casting discovery on Neat Bar Pro by ensuring Bluetooth initializes reliably during startup.
  • Improved SSL certificate fingerprint diagnostics for device-pairing failures.
  • Reduced microphone latency on Neat Center and Neat Pad Pro by approximately 38 ms.
  • Improved multi-Center camera selection, speaker-switching responsiveness, microphone send level, and Voice Isolation in reverberant rooms.
  • Fixed French localization gaps in System Settings and restored auto-framing modes for Neat Center-only camera configurations in Microsoft Teams.
  • Fixed ultrawide 21:9 HDMI resolution negotiation on Neat Bar Pro.
  • Fixed HDMI-shared audio synchronization in Zoom Rooms, Zoom Multi-Stream errors with Neat Center, and false Zoom Room Scheduler occupancy reports.
  • Included earlier fixes for HDMI stability, BYOD audio behavior, device resets, network connectivity, audio recognition, display output, camera detection, content sharing, time zones, and SCEP certificate retention.

New Features

  • Gen 2 Neat devices can drive external room speakers through HDMI audio output in Internal + external or External only mode, supporting amplifiers, passive speakers, and active speakers.
  • All devices running Neat OS 26.3 or later support WPA3-Personal, WPA3-Enterprise, WPA2/WPA3 transition mode, and 6 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Added web-interface configuration for Wi-Fi and Ethernet 802.1X, including SCEP, CSR certificate flows, and PEM certificate bundles.
  • Added Swedish device-language support and improved Japanese localization, including previously untranslated menus and BYOD text.
  • Unified Auto BYOD and Manual BYOD controls by adding the BYOD mode and Exit BYOD mode controls to Auto BYOD.

Known Issues

  • Neat Pad Pro cannot pair directly with Neat Bar-family devices running Neat OS 24.6. Use an intermediate device on a newer release; the issue is resolved in Neat OS 26.5.0 Preview.
  • Neat Pad microphones may turn off after a restart or master-device Wi-Fi reconnection. Re-enable them from room device settings in Neat Pulse.
  • Neat Board 32 may briefly flash black when opening the swipe-left menu in BYOD-only mode.
  • Disabling Color Correction may not take effect immediately and can take approximately 30 seconds or longer with multiple displays or an idle device.
  • Speaker Framing may select the wrong in-room participants when external speakers are used, especially when speakers are far from the Neat device. Use Auto Frame or Group Frame, or place speakers closer.
  • Neat devices may respond to foreign PTPv2 multicast Delay_Req messages on the same network and domain, potentially interfering with AES67/1588 equipment.
  • Google Meet does not display the Framing Boundary tutorial; dismiss the error and close the dialog with the X.
  • Auto BYOD sessions may take longer than expected to exit after USB disconnection and may produce a brief audio spike.
  • Preview-channel devices may no longer respect Keep Screen On; disable Screen Standby to keep the display on.
  • Changing Neat settings during a Google Meet call may end the call for EFT customers.
  • Camera selection can show inconsistent boundary boxes, hidden Framing Boundary settings, inconsistent preview modes, and confusing slider terminology.
  • Disabled cameras may keep their LEDs on during calls, and some Neat Center framing or participant-detection behaviors remain inconsistent.
  • Neat Pads running Microsoft Teams may respond slowly or show a black screen.
  • Using a local input on Neat Board 65 in Companion Zoom Room mode logs Zoom out by design.
  • Zoom Advanced Noise Suppression cannot be disabled in this release, negatively affecting Music mode.
  • Switching between external audio hardware and the internal speaker with Audio over USB may fail during Zoom meetings.
  • Neat Bar Gen 2 may show a shifted layout during out-of-box setup with some high-resolution monitors.
  • Simultaneous OTA downloads can throttle networks, trigger security monitoring, or leave devices on a purple upgrade screen if the upgrade window expires.
  • Turning off a CEC-enabled monitor may put Neat Bar to sleep without waking it when the monitor is turned back on, unless motion-based auto-wakeup is enabled.

Hints

  • Stable updates are now scheduled per Neat Pulse organization. Check Updates > Neat OS Roadmap in Neat Pulse for the organization-specific schedule.
  • Organizations not using Neat Pulse continue to receive Preview and Stable updates through automatic OTA updates.
  • Enable Automatic updates under System > Software Update, and keep devices powered on, online, and available overnight.
  • The Stable release became available on September 5, 2026, but rollout is staged and devices may not update simultaneously.
  • For Neat Bar Pro HDMI audio, HDMI 2 carries audio in dual-display setups. With only HDMI 1 and HDMI 3 connected, HDMI 3 carries audio. For single-display setups, enable Screen Mirroring.
  • HDMI audio output and USB audio cannot be used simultaneously. External audio latency and processing must be controlled by the downstream amplifier or DSP.
  • HDMI audio output carries far-end and content audio only; it does not provide in-room voice lift.
  • Supported software combinations include Zoom Room Controller 7.1.5 (5387), Zoom Room Appliance 7.1.5 (10317), Chromium M141, and Neat Pulse Agent 2.3.44.
  • Neat Frame is excluded from Neat OS 26.3.0 and continues receiving separate Zoom application updates.
  • Neat Pulse-managed devices must be updated through Neat Pulse; the device Software Update option may be unavailable.
