Update Summary
Neat OS 26.3.0 adds WPA3 and 6 GHz Wi-Fi, web-based 802.1X configuration, external HDMI audio, Swedish and Japanese language support, and unified Auto BYOD behavior. It also delivers audio, camera, display, networking, and interoperability fixes.
Update Details
Security
- Adds WPA3-Personal, WPA3-Enterprise, and WPA2/WPA3 transition-mode support across supported Neat devices, enabling WPA3-secured and 6 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Adds web-based 802.1X configuration for Wi-Fi and Ethernet, including SCEP, standard CSR certificate workflows, and PEM certificate-chain uploads.
- Improves SSL certificate fingerprint mismatch diagnostics during device pairing by adding additional fingerprint logging.
Bug Fixes
- Fixes USB audio disconnects, missing output, and severe noise during Zoom-to-Microsoft Teams interoperability calls on Neat Bar Pro and Neat Board Pro.
- Corrects DHCP Option 42 NTP failover so devices return automatically to the advertised server after it becomes reachable.
- Improves Microsoft Teams Casting discovery by ensuring Bluetooth initializes reliably on Neat Bar Pro.
- Reduces microphone latency on Neat Center and Neat Pad Pro by approximately 38 ms.
- Improves camera selection with multiple Neat Centers, mixer responsiveness between speakers, microphone send level, and Voice Isolation in reverberant rooms.
- Fixes Neat Bar Pro HDMI issues involving 21:9 display negotiation, shared-content audio synchronization, Zoom Multi-Stream errors, and unexpected restarts.
- Improves Neat Center participant detection, pairing, network stability, and automatic framing behavior.
- Fixes language localization gaps, inaccurate time-zone handling, captive-portal validation problems, USB audio detection, and unexpected factory resets.
- Restores Neat Center auto-framing modes in Microsoft Teams when using the Neat Center-only camera configuration.
- Reduces false room-occupancy reports caused by ultrasound motion detection in Zoom Room Scheduler.
New Features
- Gen 2 Neat devices can drive external room speakers through HDMI audio output in Internal plus external or External only modes.
- Adds WPA3-Personal, WPA3-Enterprise, WPA2/WPA3 transition mode, and 6 GHz Wi-Fi support.
- Adds web-based 802.1X enterprise setup for Wi-Fi and Ethernet, with SCEP, CSR, and PEM certificate-chain support.
- Adds Swedish device localization and completes Japanese localization for menus and BYOD text.
- Unifies Auto BYOD and Manual BYOD controls by adding a BYOD mode button to the Auto BYOD swipe menu and an on-screen Exit BYOD mode button.
Known Issues
- Neat Pad Pro cannot pair directly with Neat Bar-family devices running Neat OS 24.6; use an intermediate device on a newer release. The issue is resolved in Neat OS 26.5.0 Preview.
- Neat Pad microphones may be disabled after a restart or overnight maintenance when the master device reconnects over Wi-Fi. Re-enable them from the room settings in Neat Pulse.
- Neat Board 32 may briefly flash black when opening the swipe-left menu in BYOD-only mode.
- Disabling Color Correction may not take effect immediately and can take approximately 30 seconds or longer, especially with multiple displays or an idle device.
- Speaker Framing may select people who are not speaking when external speakers are used, particularly when speakers are positioned away from the Neat device.
- Neat devices may respond to foreign PTPv2 multicast Delay_Req messages on the same network and domain, potentially interfering with PTPv2 equipment such as AES67 or IEEE 1588 audio devices.
- The Framing Boundary tutorial is unavailable in Google Meet mode and displays an error instead.
- Auto BYOD may take longer than expected to exit after USB disconnection, and a brief audio spike may occur during disconnection.
- Preview-channel devices may no longer respect the Keep Screen On setting; disable Screen Standby to keep the display on.
- Changing certain Neat settings during an active Google Meet call may end the call for some EFT customers.
- Camera framing boundary controls have several known inconsistencies involving green boundary boxes, hidden minimum-depth settings, slider ranges, preview behavior, and terminology.
- A disabled camera LED may remain lit during calls on Neat Board Pro and Neat Center.
- Neat Pads running Microsoft Teams may respond slowly or show a black screen in some cases.
- Connecting a peripheral to a Neat Board 65 local input port in Companion Zoom Room mode logs Zoom out by design.
- Zoom Advanced Noise Suppression cannot be disabled in this release, which degrades Music mode audio.
- Switching between external audio hardware and the internal speaker while using Audio over USB on Neat Bar Pro may fail during Zoom meetings.
- Neat Bar Gen 2 may show a shifted layout during out-of-box setup with some high-resolution monitors.
- Simultaneous OTA downloads across many devices can throttle networks or leave devices on a purple upgrade screen if the upgrade window expires.
- Turning off a CEC-enabled monitor may put a Neat Bar to sleep without waking it when the monitor is turned back on, depending on auto-wake settings.
Hints
- Stable rollout for Neat Pulse organizations is now scheduled per tenant through Updates and Neat OS Roadmap; organizations without Neat Pulse continue receiving automatic OTA updates.
- Enable Automatic updates under System Settings, System, and Software Update, and keep devices powered on, online, and available overnight.
- Neat Bar Pro external HDMI audio uses HDMI 2 in dual-display setups. With HDMI 1 and HDMI 3 only, HDMI 3 carries audio; single-display setups require Screen Mirroring.
- HDMI audio output cannot be used simultaneously with Audio over USB. External audio equipment should minimize processing and latency to preserve echo cancellation and synchronization.
- The external HDMI audio path carries far-end and content audio only; it does not provide in-room voice lift.
- Supported firmware must be kept aligned with the listed Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams versions to receive technical support.
- Neat Pulse-enrolled devices must be updated and managed from Neat Pulse because local software-update controls may be disabled.
- The release excludes Neat Frame from Neat OS updates; Neat Frame continues receiving separate Zoom application updates.
