Google Gemini Update

Gemini in Google Classroom can convert rubric files and images into interactive rubrics during assignment creation. The feature is controlled by the Gemini in Classroom admin setting and is available in English for users over 18.

• Gemini in Google Classroom can convert rubric documents and images into structured Classroom rubrics.
• Supported uploads now include additional image formats such as .jpeg and .png.
• Educators can edit the converted rubric before saving it in Classroom.

• Rubric conversion is enabled or disabled by the Gemini in Classroom setting in the Admin console.
• If Gemini in Classroom is disabled for the organization, rubric conversion from documents or images is unavailable.
• Feature rollout is full for Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, with visibility expected within 1–3 days starting June 8, 2026.
• Available only in English for users over age 18.
