Google Docs gains a redesigned Gemini experience for generating, writing, and refining documents with context from Drive, Gmail, Chat, and the web. The release also adds Match writing style and Match doc format, with rollout starting April 22, 2026.

• End users must have Workspace smart features enabled.
• Features launch in English first, with Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, and Korean support to follow.
• Promotional higher limits for Match writing style and Match document format apply through July 15, 2026.
• After July 15, 2026, per-user usage limits will apply; higher limits remain for AI Expanded Access, AI Ultra Access, and Google AI Pro for Education add-ons.
