Google Gemini Update

AI Overviews in Drive is now generally available for eligible Google Workspace and Google AI plans. Gemini can summarize Drive search results and answer natural-language questions directly in search.

• AI Overviews in Drive now provide instant summaries at the top of Drive search results.
• Users can ask natural-language questions about files and get Gemini-generated answers.
• Users can open a deeper Gemini conversation from the overview with one click.

• Admins: The feature is available by default if Gemini for Workspace in Drive is enabled.
• End users: Workspace smart features must be enabled to use AI Overviews in Drive.
• Rollout starts on 2026-04-22 for Rapid Release English, 2026-05-07 for Scheduled Release English, 2026-05-06 for Rapid Release in 28 additional languages, and 2026-05-26 for Scheduled Release in 28 additional languages.
