Google Gemini Update

Gemini in Google Classroom is now available in all Classroom-supported languages. The update expands lesson creation and study tools for educators and higher education students, with rollout starting April 13, 2026.

• Gemini in Google Classroom expands from English to all Classroom-supported languages.
• Educators can use Gemini to outline lesson plans, generate quizzes, write informational text, tackle misconceptions, and translate text.
• Higher education students can use Guided Learning, quizzes, flashcards, and study guide creation in the Gemini tab.

• Access is ON by default for Gemini in Classroom, but admins can turn it on or off in the Admin console.
• These capabilities are only available to users designated as 18 years of age and over in age-based access settings.
• Starter prompts open in the Gemini app, and access is controlled by the Gemini app setting.
• Ensure Classroom roles are assigned correctly for teachers and students.
• Rollout is extended for Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains and may take longer than 15 days.
