Google Gemini Update

Gemini can now create content, schedule meetings, draft emails, and manage tasks across Google Workspace apps without switching contexts. It also adds deep research across files and threads, with built-in confidentiality, permission checks, and human review for external actions.

• Data confidentiality: user data is not reviewed by humans or used to train Gemini models.
• Granular permissions: Gemini respects the authenticated user's existing access permissions and sharing policies.
• Human-in-the-loop controls for sending emails and scheduling meetings require preview, edit, and confirmation before execution.

• Use Gemini across Workspace apps to create formatted Docs, structured Sheets, and stylized Slides from Gmail, Chat, Drive, Docs, or Slides.
• Conduct deep research across large folders or long threads and generate summary reports with source attributions.
• Draft emails from meeting notes or active documents, with the option to open as a draft or send directly.
• Schedule meetings, find open times, and resolve calendar conflicts from Workspace apps.
• Create reminders and to-do lists that map directly into Google Tasks.
• This functionality will soon power flows built in Workspace Studio.

• At launch, the feature is supported in English only.
• Usage of advanced AI features across Workspace apps is subject to usage limits.
• Scheduling functionality is not available for Google AI Pro consumer users.

• Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains: gradual rollout up to 15 days for feature visibility started on September 2, 2026.
• Availability: Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, Google AI Pro, Google AI Ultra, Frontline Plus for scheduling only, Google AI Pro for Education, and AI Expanded Access.
• The feature can be accessed from the side panel in supported apps and via Ask Gemini in Chat and Drive.
