Google Gemini Update

Google Classroom adds Gemini tab updates for teachers, including mobile access, new visual content generators, and more lesson-planning prompts. Admins can control access for verified teachers age 18+ in their organization.

• Gemini tab is now available in the Classroom Android and iOS apps.
• Teachers can use mobile features such as Generate a quiz, Brainstorm project ideas, Craft a compelling hook, Tackle common misconceptions, and Gemini starter prompts.
• New image-generation prompts powered by Nano Banana 2: Create an infographic, Draw a comic strip, and Visualize a concept.
• New Gemini Canvas prompts for lesson materials: Create a presentation, Create an interactive activity, and Convert a file to Google slides.

• Admins can control who is allowed to use Gemini in Google Classroom through the Admin console.
• These capabilities are available only to verified teachers who are 18 years of age or older in age-based access settings.
• Users should review AI-generated content before assigning it to students.
• Rollout pace: Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains available now.
• Availability: Education Fundamentals, Standard, and Plus.
