Google Cloud Update

July 29, 2026 Google Cloud release notes include new GA features for App Engine legacy bundled services and Cloud KMS Autokey, plus Cloud SQL CMEK re-encryption improvements and Managed Service for Apache Airflow updates. Google SecOps parser coverage and several platform expansions were also updated.

• Cloud KMS Autokey with same-project key storage is generally available, helping constrain key management usage with organization guardrails.
• Cloud SQL for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server now support faster CMEK re-encryption with zero downtime.

• Managed Service for Apache Airflow now shows the correct error message when environment creation fails due to malformed network or subnetwork identifiers.
• Managed Service for Apache Airflow now shows the correct default task priority weight of 1 in the Google Cloud console.
• Managed Service for Apache Airflow restored failure and retry alerts through a pluggable email backend in Airflow 3.2.2.

• App Engine standard environment Go, Java, PHP, and Python now support enabling only needed legacy bundled services with the app_engine_bundled_services field in GA.
• BigQuery Data Transfer Service now supports incremental transfers from Klaviyo to BigQuery in Preview.
• Bigtable row key schemas can now be managed in the Google Cloud console in Preview.
• Cloud KMS Autokey with same-project key storage is now GA.
• Cloud SQL for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server now support zero-downtime CMEK re-encryption with in-place disk re-encryption.
• Cloud Scheduler is now available in europe-west8, europe-west9, and us-south1.
• Cloud Service Mesh now supports IP auto-allocation with DNS Proxy for TRAFFIC_DIRECTOR clusters in Rapid release channel.
• Confidential VM on AMD SEV for C3D and C4D machine types now supports more than 255 vCPUs.
• Datastream can now be created directly from the Spanner instance or database overview page using the automated flow.
• Google SecOps updated supported default parsers, added new log types without default parsers, and allows viewing prebuilt parser preview content even when a custom parser exists.
• Google SecOps Marketplace integrations were updated, including Active Directory 44.0, Anomali ThreatStream 18.0, Google Threat Intelligence 20.0, Microsoft 365 Defender 28.0, Siemplify 112.0, and Vertex AI 8.0.
• Managed Service for Apache Airflow now includes Airflow 3.2.2 in Gen 3 and new Gen 3 and Gen 2 builds/images.
• reCAPTCHA now includes an Agent overview dashboard on the Google Cloud Fraud Defense home page.

• Managed Service for Apache Airflow release changes may not be available in all regions immediately while rollout is in progress.
• Google SecOps parser updates are rolled out gradually and may take one to four days to appear in a region.

• Managed Service for Apache Airflow Gen 3 default triggerer resources are changing to 1 vCPU and 2 GB memory; this is available in Google Cloud CLI, Terraform, and Cloud Composer API and is rolling out gradually in the console.
• Managed Service for Apache Airflow versions and builds reaching end of support include composer-3-airflow-2.10.5-build.10, composer-3-airflow-2.9.3-build.30, composer-2.13.8-airflow-2.9.3, and composer-2.13.8-airflow-2.10.5.
• Google SecOps parser changes are gradual; supported parser content may differ by region during rollout.
