Update Summary

July 06, 2026 updates across BigQuery, Bigtable, Gemini Enterprise, Google SecOps, and Spanner. Highlights include a temporary Facebook Ads AdInsightsMMM transfer change, Bigtable direct connectivity, Gemini Enterprise region expansion, SecOps Data RBAC for 1P cases and alerts, and Gemini-assisted SQL fixes in Spanner Studio.

Update Details

Security

  • Google SecOps adds Data RBAC for first-party cases and alerts, enforcing SIEM data access scopes in SOAR so analysts only see authorized data.

Bug Fixes

  • BigQuery temporarily disables Facebook Ads AdInsightsMMM report data in transfers due to Facebook Ads API schema changes; existing transfers continue without that report.
  • Spanner Studio can now help fix SQL query errors by showing a line-by-line comparison and recommended correction.

New Features

  • Bigtable supports direct connectivity that bypasses the Google frontend for eligible application traffic.
  • Bigtable now supports Organization Policy Service custom constraints for specific operations on continuous materialized views, generally available.
  • Gemini Enterprise is available in Japan (asia-northeast1) and UK (europe-west2) regions with at-rest data residency and in-region machine learning processing, with allowlist access.
  • Google SecOps adds Data RBAC for first-party cases and alerts in public preview, including scope inheritance, dual access enforcement, and scope-to-environment mapping.
  • Spanner Studio adds a Fix action in Preview to correct SQL query errors with Gemini assistance.

Known Issues

  • BigQuery Facebook Ads transfers that include the AdInsightsMMM report will continue to run, but the report data will not be included.

Hints

  • Gemini Enterprise Japan and UK region access is GA with allowlist; contact your Google account team to enable it.
  • Google SecOps Data RBAC requires a unified Google SecOps instance with the Chronicle connector using the modern Chronicle API.
  • Administrators can enable Google SecOps Data RBAC under SIEM settings > Data access by selecting Enforce data access in SOAR, or Enforce data access if SIEM data access is not yet active.
  • Bigtable direct connectivity is intended for application traffic that meets specific criteria.
  • Google SecOps Data RBAC is available only in the listed regions.
