Google Cloud Update

July 02, 2026 release adds NetApp Volumes protections for GCVE datastores, Preview support for thick clone split on Flex Unified Default-mode, and GA support for Exascale Storage Vaults in Oracle Database@Google Cloud.

• Flex Unified supports Block volume from deletion when clients are connected for block and file volumes; required for NetApp Volumes with Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) datastores.
• Flex Unified Default-mode supports thick clone (thin clone split) in Preview.
• Oracle Database@Google Cloud supports Exascale Storage Vaults for Exadata on Dedicated Infrastructure and Exadata VM Clusters; this feature is GA.

• When enabled, the GCVE-related deletion protection prevents deleting a volume while it is mounted as a GCVE datastore.
