Google Cloud Update

Sept 7–Sept 10, 2026 updates include GA for Pub/Sub AI Inference SMTs, PostgreSQL Source Connector in Managed Service for Apache Kafka, and Dataflow pause-on-failure for batch jobs. BigQuery insertAll is now the BigQuery Storage Write API (REST), and AlloyDB Omni Red Hat RPM Orchestrator is generally available.

• Pub/Sub AI Inference SMTs are generally available for applying Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform model inference to incoming event streams.
• Managed Service for Apache Kafka now generally supports a PostgreSQL Source Connector for low-latency change capture from PostgreSQL databases.
• Dataflow batch jobs now support pause-on-failure so failed jobs can be paused, fixed, and resumed without losing completed work.
• The legacy insertAll streaming API is now rebranded as the BigQuery Storage Write API (REST).
• AlloyDB Omni Red Hat RPM Orchestrator is now generally available for managing PostgreSQL-compatible workloads on bare metal or VM platforms.

• The PostgreSQL Source Connector is compatible with Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, and self-managed PostgreSQL databases.
• The BigQuery Storage Write API (REST) transition is described as seamless for existing users with zero code changes and backward compatibility.
