Google Cloud SDK 578.0.0 (2026-07-28) adds new gcloud commands and flags across Cloud services, including Secret Manager, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, and BigQuery. It also changes database migration conversion-workspace behavior to auto-commit by default and fixes several CLI issues.

• BigQuery: fixed reading configuration from gcloud CLI with --nouse_google_auth and added -f/--force support to bq rm --connection.
• Google Cloud Contact Center as a Service: fixed multiple issues affecting call routing, chat handling, reports, integrations, transfers, inactivity timers, and exports.
• Google Cloud Contact Center as a Service: improved internal instrumentation to diagnose poor call quality scores and improve call reliability.

• AlloyDB for PostgreSQL: IAM group authentication is available in Preview for new clusters running PostgreSQL 15 and later.
• Cloud Backup DR: added --log-retention-days for PITR log retention configuration.
• Cloud Run: added --sandbox-launcher for jobs and worker pools.
• Compute Engine: added --metadata-filter, --internal-range, and several new IAM test and policy commands.
• Secret Manager: added --secret-type, enable-managed-rotation, and rotate-secret commands.
• Google Cloud Contact Center as a Service: added email parsed data endpoints, email forwarding with attachments, and Smart disposition.
• Google Kubernetes Engine: added support for opting out of the default Arm node taint and added CORS support for Gateway and Inference Gateway.
• Google SecOps: Data RBAC for first-party cases and alerts is available in public preview.
• Security Command Center: released ITSM app v1.2.0 and SIR app v1.3.0 with expanded ServiceNow support and new features.
• Spanner: supports creating tables without defining primary keys.

• Confidential VM instances using AMD SEV-SNP may have longer boot times and performance changes starting August 2026; this is expected to be resolved by November 2026. AMD SEV and Intel TDX instances are not affected.

• Database Migration: --auto-commit is now the default for gcloud database-migration conversion-workspaces seed|convert|import-rules; use --no-auto-commit to disable it.
• AlloyDB: enable alloydb.iam_authentication and alloydb.iam_group_authentication database flags to use IAM group authentication.
• Cloud Composer: Airflow CLI commands are enabled for Composer environments running Airflow 3.2.
• Cloud IAM: enabled-for-users-groups for --scim-usage is promoted to beta in gcloud beta iam workforce-pools providers.
• Compute Engine: gcloud compute reservations hosts list and describe now require --reservation when --reservation-block is specified.
• GKE: Arm taint opt-out is configured with --node-architecture-taint-behavior NONE or taintConfig.architectureTaintBehavior=NONE.
• GKE Gateway and Inference Gateway CORS support is available in Preview in GKE 1.35 and later for specific GatewayClasses.
• Security Command Center: ServiceNow integration guide now supports Yokohama, Zurich, and Australia versions and updated Java KeyStore certificate setup instructions.
