Automattic Wordpress Update Version 7.0

WordPress 7.0 “Armstrong” introduces AI capabilities through the Core AI Client, Abilities API, connection hub, and optional AI plugin. It also modernizes the dashboard and expands design, customization, and developer tools.

• Adds an AI Client in Core, the Abilities API, a Client-Side Abilities package, and a central hub for managing external AI connections.
• Adds an optional AI plugin for generating and editing images, creating titles and excerpts, and suggesting alt text.
• Introduces a modernized dashboard with a new admin theme, smooth transitions, the Command Palette, font management, and visual revision browsing.
• Adds new Gallery, Heading, Breadcrumbs, and Icons blocks, along with enhanced responsive visibility controls.
• Adds customizable block-based menu overlays, detachable patterns, and block-level custom CSS.
• Expands developer capabilities with server-side block and pattern registration, enhanced Site Editor extensibility, routing and route validation, and the wordpress/boot package.

• WordPress 7.0 is available for download.
• The release includes installation information, enhancements, fixed issues, file changes, and developer guidance in the WordPress 7.0 Release Notes and Field Guide.
• More than 21 web hosts tested prerelease versions for compatibility with hosting platforms.
