Claude Opus 5 is now available on all platforms as the new default model on Claude Max and strongest model on Claude Pro. It adds beta support for mid-conversation tool changes on the Claude Platform and automatic API fallbacks, while keeping the same pricing as Opus 4.8.

Safety classifiers block binary-based vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and exploit generation.
Cyber Verification Program (CVP) provides access to a less restricted version for approved cybersecurity work.
Automatic fallbacks can route flagged Opus 5 or Fable 5 requests to another model instead of blocking them.
