Update Summary

Q-SYS 10.2 introduces new security controls, refreshed Peripheral Manager and Designer UI options, and Q-SYS Connect planning support. Version 10.2.1 adds stronger warnings for unprotected systems and fixes several platform, control, and video issues.

Update Details

Security

  • Q-SYS Peripheral Manager now warns when a peripheral has no Administrator Password set and links directly to password configuration.
  • Core Manager now shows a persistent banner when Access Control is disabled on a Core, with a direct link to enable it.
  • Q-SYS Designer now warns during Save to Core & Run or Load from Core & Connect when a connected Core has Access Control disabled.
  • Peripheral Manager adds a Security page for supported peripherals to configure sign-in and password policies, session timeout, concurrent session limits, and custom legal or security banners.
  • Peripheral Manager now supports custom private key / certificate pairs from an internal Certificate Authority for supported peripherals.
  • TcpSocket:NewTls() now supports TLS certificate validation for Lua scripts.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed design file bloat after pushing to or loading from a Core in Q-SYS Designer 10.1 and 10.2.
  • Fixed multiple NC-90 video issues, including Tile View preview failures, kernel warnings, and incorrect participant framing/cropping.
  • Fixed NV-21 disappearing after a source was connected to USB-C.
  • Fixed UCI and touchscreen issues including hidden controls triggering, wrong page loading, frozen meters, screen-off reloads, and intermittent button image loading failures.
  • Fixed several control and scripting issues, including crashes in emulation, incorrect CSS handling, plugin control iteration, and SVG text rendering.
  • Fixed platform issues including paging station command button display, multicast address persistence, PTP announce packet length, stale session counting, and NMOS registration failures.
  • Fixed multiple video issues affecting NC-series cameras, NV decoders, NV-21, IO-USB Bridge, Mediacast preview, and USB-C / DisplayPort Alt Mode behavior.

New Features

  • Refreshed Q-SYS Peripheral Manager with a streamlined interface aligned to Core Manager.
  • Expanded Date & Time configuration for supported peripherals, including backup NTP and secure backup NTP options.
  • Added an early warning dialog when opening older designs in a newer major version of Q-SYS Designer.
  • Introduced an optional new Schematic Elements UI with filtering and improved plugin organization.
  • Added code-name-based tab titles in Script Programmer Mode.
  • Added design-specific Script Programmer Mode storage.
  • Added a default Script Access preference for new components.
  • Introduced Q-SYS Connect planning support for Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams Room workflows.

Known Issues

  • NC-90 AI modes did not reliably switch when Auto Framing and Active Speaker Framing were rapidly enabled and disabled through scripting or QRC commands.
  • Upgrading an NC-Pro15X from 10.1 to 10.2 could overwrite NDI-Only stream settings on the camera web page with default values.

Hints

  • Before upgrading, review the Q-SYS Designer Software Compatibility section.
  • Windows 10.x is no longer supported by Q-SYS Designer Software.
  • The new Peripheral Manager interface is available for supported peripherals excluding NL, NM, and QIO series.
  • The new Date & Time and Security pages are available for supported peripherals excluding NL, NM, and QIO series.
  • The new Schematic Elements UI can be enabled under File > Preferences > Enable the new Schematic Elements UI.
  • Q-SYS Connect is included in Inventory in 10.2 for planning, but full download availability and support roll out in a later 10.2 hotfix.
  • The MTR component is now discontinued and new designs should migrate to Q-SYS Connect for Microsoft Teams Rooms integration.
