Security

  • Includes the latest security fixes for Windows Server 2025.
  • WSUS synchronization error details are temporarily removed to address the Remote Code Execution vulnerability, CVE-2025-59287.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixes File Explorer folder renaming issues when desktop.ini custom names were ignored.
  • Fixes a graphics issue where some GPU configurations could trigger dxgmms2.sys and KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE.
  • Disables the forwarded I/O feature in the NVMe stack by default.

New Features

  • DNS over HTTPS (DoH) support for Windows DNS Server is available in public preview.
  • Windows Server now supports random shuffling of DNS resource records in server responses.

Known Issues

  • WSUS does not display synchronization error details within error reporting after installing KB5070881 or later updates.

Hints

  • To enable DNS record shuffling, create RandomShuffle as a DWORD under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DNS\Parameters and set it to 1.
  • Set RandomShuffle to 0 or delete the key to disable the feature.
  • The DoH preview is for feedback only and is not supported for production use.
