Microsoft Teams Update

Microsoft Teams admin features release notes for June 17, 2026. Updates include Pro Management portal reporting, meeting bot admission controls, breakout room CSV assignment, Teams room builder, and a default captions profanity filter change.

• Meeting organizers must explicitly admit external 3P bots from the lobby, reducing the risk of inadvertently allowing unwanted bots into meetings.

• Enhanced peripheral data in Pro Management portal reports for BYOD spaces, including flags for faulty, undetectable, missing, or moved devices.
• Teams now preserves selected tabs, open side panels, and layout when returning to a conversation within a short time.
• Organizers can identify external 3P bots waiting in the meeting lobby and admit them separately if needed.
• Bulk breakout room participant assignment using a CSV file.
• Teams room builder in the Pro Management portal for designing and configuring Teams Rooms traditional, signature, and flex spaces.
• Default profanity filter for live captions changes from On to Off across Teams meetings, calls, events, and Microsoft Teams Rooms devices for users who have not previously set a preference.

• Reports in the Pro Management portal require a Teams Shared Devices license for the room, and desk reports are in public preview.
• The Teams room builder is available with Teams Rooms Pro.
• Users who already configured their live captions profanity filter will keep their existing setting.
• Users can change the live captions profanity filter preference in settings at any time.
