Google Workspace Update

Data loss prevention policies for Google Calendar are now generally available. The feature scans event title, description, and location for sensitive data and can audit, warn, or block policy violations.

• Protects sensitive information in Calendar event details by scanning free-text fields for data such as credit card numbers and national identification numbers.
• Supports audit, warning, and blocking actions when a DLP policy is violated.
• Uses owner-based policy enforcement aligned with other Workspace DLP configurations.

• Google Calendar DLP is now generally available after previously being in beta.
• Admins can configure DLP policies for event title, description, and location fields.
• Users receive immediate feedback in the web UI, and blocked mobile or API updates trigger an automated email notification.

• Feature is off by default and can be enabled at the organizational unit or group level.
• No end-user setting is available.
• Rollout is gradual for Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, with visibility taking up to 15 days starting on 2026-06-03.
• Available for Enterprise Standard and Plus, Education Fundamentals/Standard/Plus, Enterprise Essentials, and Frontline Standard/Plus.
