Google Gemini Update

Google Workspace Assignments LTI™ and Gemini LTI™ are now available for Moodle. The update adds Google AI tools to third-party LMSs and streamlines Moodle setup with LTI Dynamic Registration.

• Assignments LTI™ supports originality reports to help educators check student work authenticity.
• Admins must enable the Google Workspace LTI™ service and the Gemini service in the Admin console for access.

• Assignments LTI™ and Gemini LTI™ now support Moodle, in addition to Canvas and Schoology.
• Gemini LTI™ brings the Gemini app and NotebookLM into third-party LMSs for in-context assistance.
• NotebookLM features include content-grounded notebooks, audio overviews, and automated FAQ support.
• Moodle administrators can register the tools using LTI Dynamic Registration.

• Workspace admins must enable the Google Workspace LTI™ service in the Admin console for Assignments LTI™.
• Workspace admins must enable both the Google Workspace LTI™ service and the Gemini service for Gemini LTI™.
• LMS admins must also enable Gemini LTI™ in Moodle.
• Rollout started on 2026-05-11 and may take 1–3 days for feature visibility.
• Available for Education Fundamentals, Standard, and Plus.
