Google Gemini Update

April 22, 2026. Gemini in Sheets can now build and edit complex spreadsheets from natural language prompts, including formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data pulled from Workspace content. Promotional higher usage limits apply through July 15, 2026.

• End-to-end spreadsheet creation from a single prompt, including data retrieval and formatting.
• Side-by-side editing of existing models, budgets, and analyses in the Sheets side panel.
• Workspace Intelligence can use context from files, emails, chats, and the web to improve spreadsheet accuracy.
• Advanced task fulfillment for pivot tables, complex formulas, and optimization problems.
• Promotional access to higher usage limits through July 15, 2026.

• Available by default if Gemini for Workspace in Sheets is enabled.
• Workspace Intelligence must be enabled to expand supported use cases.
• End users need Workspace smart features enabled and will see the Gemini icon in the Sheets side panel.
• Feature is currently available in the US in English only.
• Rapid Release rollout starts April 22, 2026; Scheduled Release rollout starts May 6, 2026.
• Availability: Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, AI Expanded Access, AI Ultra Access, Google AI Pro for Education, Google AI Pro, and Ultra.
