Security

  • Mobile Device Management: new forceBypassScreenCaptureAlert key lets managed-device owners opt out of user notifications for content capture technologies.
  • ScreenCaptureKit: deprecated content capture technologies now use enhanced user awareness policies with fewer dialogs for previously acknowledged apps.
  • System Integrity Protection: fixed incorrect prompts when a TestFlight app accesses an application group container.

Bug Fixes

  • AppKit: menu item keyboard shortcuts in the Services menu no longer override application menu shortcuts.
  • Carbon: iBooks Author no longer quits unexpectedly when clicking Charts or Widgets in the toolbar.
  • DataDetection: iPhone and iPad apps on Apple Silicon Macs no longer quit unexpectedly when using the DataDetection API.
  • Messages: iMessage and third-party notifications can be received while connected to a VPN.
  • Quick Look: back-deploying apps linking QuickLookUI to macOS 11 or earlier no longer crash.
  • Siri: some Siri snippet buttons are responsive again when using Siri through Voice.
  • StoreKit: subscription renewal info now reports the correct offer identifier for offer codes in StoreKit Testing.
  • Swift Charts: projects using Swift Charts now build successfully for iOS, macOS, and visionOS targets.
  • SwiftUI: using if #available in @WidgetBundleBuilder and @SceneBuilder no longer crashes on prior OS versions.
  • UIKit: iPhone and iPad apps on Apple Silicon Macs no longer quit unexpectedly when loading UIReferenceLibraryViewController.

New Features

  • MDM profiles can use the new forceBypassScreenCaptureAlert key to suppress content capture notifications for managed devices.
  • ScreenCaptureKit adds enhanced user awareness policies for deprecated content capture technologies.

Known Issues

  • macOS apps might crash with duplicate toolbar items when nested NavigationSplitViews are used or when identified toolbars are reused in a new window.
  • Tabs in TabView using .sidebarAdaptable might not select when the tab label is clicked on macOS 15.1.
